Project Proposal

All project proposals should be no more than 6 double-spaced pages and should include:

1. Statement of Purpose: State the goals and expectations of the project, and the area where it will be implemented.

2. Rationale/ Need: Describe the need for the proposed project, and the significance of the problem which it seeks to address in the specific location for which you are requesting funding.

3. Project Plan: Provide a description of how you intend to achieve the goals described above (include a timeline). The plan should include these main components:

a. Group education

b. Hands-on workshops

c. Organization of individuals into micro-clinics (small groups of 3-6 individuals). For example, the micro-clinics could allow the participants to share the cost of maintaining modern medical technologies, offer group support, act as an information dissemination system, or a combination of the aforementioned. Please read about the project listed under the "Middle East" section of this website for an example.

d. Rely heavily on volunteer efforts of ordinary citizens including, men, women and children, as well as public, private and academic resources, as circumstances permit.

4. Qualifications/ Resources: Provide information that demonstrates your competence to undertake this project. Include Language abilities and foreign travel as they apply, in addition to relevant academic achievements and public service activities. Information regarding organizations or individuals who are willing to support you with this project is welcome.

5. Budget: Provide a budget which lists and explains all expenses for which you are requesting funding. Proposals with other sources of funding are especially welcome.

6. Additional Materials: Additional materials may be requested, including letters of support, and other documents.

7. Resume: Include work experience, honors/awards, educational background (area of study), complete contact information (name, address, email, phone numbers), community service involvements, and other relevant information.

8. Personal Information (optional): This is a chance for you to share anything else about yourself and why you are passionate about your project.
